At Gouverneur, you’ll quickly learn that there is much more to a good rum than just fermented sugar cane. It is about having authentic experiences.
This island-made rum is born in the land of the sun; once it hits your lips, you’ll want a lot more sips. For the rum connoisseurs, this high-quality, authentic rum is produced using agricultural rums and molasses rums from Guadeloupe and the Dominican Republic. Imagine a perfect harmony between woody aromas and delicate notes of caramel, cocoa, and cinnamon.
Make sure to visit the rum aging cellar located in French Cul de Sac in St. Martin where you get to tour the facility, get a demonstration of the rum-making process, and taste some of the best rum you will ever taste.
The rum itself is aged for over 10 years in toasted American oak Bourbon barrels or French toasted Bordeaux barrels. This is a rum with a plural identity, made with 100% natural flavors and without any added sugars.
Olivier Kleinhans, Master Assembler, Cellar Master, and kind soul, loves sharing his wisdom with anyone who takes the time to visit his shop. And if Olivier is not around, his wife or daughter are as passionate about their quality products as he is.

Rum Tasting and private visits:
During opening times anyone can pass by for a free tasting and tour around the aging room in French Cul de Sac (see map below). The friendly staff will explain you everything about Rum, the process of making it and most important how to add certain flavors by aging it the natural way!
A reservation would be preferred so that everything can be prepared accordingly to ensure you have a great experience.
